I am not a big fan of horses. I guess it's not horses that bother me, it's the memories that went along with them. There was always a couple of girls in my younger school days that were obsessed with them and it drove me insane, for whatever reason.

I guess since I can watch dolphins all day, and would love to one day swim with them, I can get it.

On the way to Rawni's school, I see these four horses often. It's funny though because I have wanted to stop and take a photo for a while, but never have time, or my camera on me, or I've got somewhere to be, or a crying or hungry baby.

Well, today I was short on time, but I had my camera and I just finally did it.

This dude was awesome. I fell in love with him. He's the only white one of the four. In fact, he always catches me eye. He's beautiful.

Turns out, he's sweet too. I started taking pictures and testing out my "zoom in" lens (getting real technical for you here). Anyways, he bolted towards me and just as sweet as ever just came up and watched me and checked me out. I enjoyed his company, I might even sneak back and feed him sometime. :)

Monday is "Homework Day". William brings home his homework folders home on Monday and back on Friday. Monday I make him do at least two of the assignments. This week was probably his most yet - five papers of homework.

I try to schedule it so that we don't do homework on Thursday's, but sometimes that just isn't possible. At any rate, I like to "knock" more of it out earlier in the week so we have time to play. That's how I was always told to do things and how I've carried on through life. Chores first, play later.

I let him choose which order he would like to do the assignments. Today he chose to work off of his calendar. Each month he gets a sheet of activities to choose from and he must do three a week. I call that a one paper assignment. Most are small and easy. Off of this sheet he chose to recite his alphabet, write his numbers, call a "friend" -which he chose my brother, and help fix dinner. As you can see above, he also chose to work on his number page.

Today Rawni had homework too. She is struggling to write her name, but we are working on it, and she is making progress.

She has a short attention span, so she needs a little more one on one with academics. She enjoys "saving" her homework to do with "brother" so we did. Today they were even more adorable because he was helping her understand the letters and explaining how to write them.

I love these two! And, I love Monday's. Am I the only one?

Yesterday was a very stressful and chaotic day. I didn't take too many photos and my creative juices were just not flowing. Actually, I was lucky I was even able to take the photos I did catch with the fact I forgot my memory card and only a smaller emergency one.

I think this is the best shot I got, and I mostly think that because my cousin is such a little model.

Once upon a time Will and I were in Hallmark and I saw the ever so adorable "Charming Tails". I am not a fan of mice. However, I am a huge fan of the book "If you give a mouse a cookie". When I was in second grade I would check it out over and over again from the school library. It's always stuck with me. For some reason, I love cartoon mice.

When I saw these adorable little things, I had to start a collection.

This is my favorite.

They all have adorable titles that go along with them. This one is called "My love for you will never grow old". Will gave it to me on the night we married; September 7, 2003.

Canon Fan

This is my camera.

It is a Canon EOS Rebel T1i. I bought in early-mid 2009. Will and I made new budgeting rules and I have my "own" money from being a Pleasure Party Consultant for Brown Bag Parties.

It took me a few months/parties to save up the money, but I busted my butt with a plan. I bought this baby and I haven't looked back. I researched and researched and was certain Canon was the way to go for me. I had almost had the money when they released the new version which includes video on it. I was so excited. It was a tad more, if I recall correctly, but well worth it. I have a few friends who have raved how nice it is that I have it "all in one" during school presentations and things.

Anyways, after I bought it and brought it to a family gathering, my Mom mentioned that she was going to throw out her old 35mm and the lenses looked similar.

Not only were they similar, they were the exact same camera. She had a 35mm Canon Rebel. The lenses and flash work wonderfully. There is one really nice zoom lens that doesn't seem to want to work, but since I didn't actually pay for it, I can't be too bummed, you know?

We've got a banana lover!

Robert eats a lot of bananas. For a while, it was one of the few things he liked. He was really picky at eating anything new. Unless of course he was crawling along the house. He will see any piece of garbage on the floor and grab and stuff it to his mouth faster than I would sweets. Yet, food on his tray, nada.

I've never been a fan of bananas. My husband eats a couple a week in his Honey Bunches of Oats. Rawni never eats them. William may go through a phase, but it's very rare. Sometimes we will sneak one in his lunch, and sometimes he will even eat it.

I am so in love with this little guy.

He's been bolting out the door and going outside a bit more, but he doesn't go too far. However, the neighbor's behind us came over asking questions a day or two ago. Will was the one who answered the door, but from what I gather, they've fallen in love with him. I think they were hoping that he didn't have a home to take him in.

He joked and said "he's well fed". Besides being a longish haired cat, he's not fat or even overweight in the slightest, so I gather they spoil him too.

He's Rawni and I's bestest bud. He snuggles her most of the day and me at night. Or I should say, she drags him everywhere. Not quite like she did with Minnie though, I think she's grown up a tad. He follows me around and sleeps on my feet. He's my baby.

Or, at least he was.

I can't believe I am already on Day 5. Did I mention how much I am loving this challenge?

As you may know, today was Robert's first birthday. I took a ton of shots, but nothing huge thrills me of any of them. I still have so much to learn with my camera. I am forever testing settings and things. I have read a few blogs, but reading is not my learning style. I am hands on. I really need to sign up for a class soon...

At any rate, this was one of my top three photo choices. I think overall this has the best picture, so it's my daily. :p

4/365 January 4, 2011; Sibling Love

I let the kids play at the park again today, AND had fun with a little "photoshoot" with them.

I am so enjoying this challenge! I wish I would have done it sooner. I have been testing settings on my camera and playing with all of my nifty tools that I've had and never taken advantage of. Doh!

Today I took the kids to the park (going along with a goal I have for the year).

Our town is wonderful and put out just under 100 Christmas trees this year to enjoy! Lights included, ornaments and decor all over. It was so beautiful and festive. We are so lucky to live in such a wonderful nice area.

Today some of them were still up and the weather was beautiful. This was one of my favorite photos (and William's) from the venture. : )

2/365 January 2, 2011; Just call me Shredder

... and I'm not referring to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles either!

Nope. Not at all.

In going along with one of my goals for the year, today I decided to do something nice for my husband and shred all of his 2003 business paperwork. He had the kids shredding checks yesterday but they lost interest about, say five checks in?

Turns out, doing something nice for my husband for no reason, not only feels good because I, you know, did something nice for my husband for no reason.

But, paper shredding is calming and "fun".

Seriously, good tunes (did you see I updated my playlist below on my blog?) and good times.

WANTED: Nunchuck

December 26th, 2010

Santa brought us a Wii for Christmas with only one nunchuck. Well, you need two for the game William loved.

So, he got a paper and pen and wrote a 'list'.

On Monday Will left for work and William said "Where's Daddy?" to which I said "He left for work" and he began bawling hysterically.

"But he forgot the list! He forgot the list."

This is one of my favorite Vineyards. We drive by it all of the time but I don't usually have time with three kids to stop and enjoy the simple things. Luckily, yesterday I was able to catch it at sunset. It really made my day because I think it's pretty special. I love living in Sonoma County.
