142/365 May 22, 2011

I am having the toughest time balancing life right now. I am keeping up on household duties, babysitting children and all of that, but photography and blogging are falling on the back burner.


I refuse to give up though.

The kids both helped with dinner tonight.  We had Chicken Carbonara, which has been one of my favorite foods for a while.  It also is a killer leftover lunch.  ; )

While we were making dinner, I had the spaghetti noodles in a pile and decided to show them how to play pick up sticks with them.  Don't worry, they washed their hands!

I am having the toughest time balancing life right now. I am keeping up on household duties, babysitting children and all of that, but photography and blogging are falling on the back burner.


I refuse to give up though.

I babysat a really long day today.  I also got a lot of cleaning done in between.  Somehow my house fell apart again this week when I wasn't looking.  Which is probably what it's doing right now playing catch up here...

Anyways, I bribed the kids and told them that if they picked up at least 10 pieces of garbage each out back they could have a popsicle.  There were some old sand toys that had gotten broken and things mostly Rawni had gotten into and dragged around the yard.

I also did a bunch of yard work.  It was a very busy and very successful day.

I am having the toughest time balancing life right now. I am keeping up on household duties, babysitting children and all of that, but photography and blogging are falling on the back burner.


I refuse to give up though.

I wish I hadn't been so lazy with my camera today.  I had several photo opportunities that would have been adorable, but I was too lazy and tired to deal with it.  Plus, I need to figure out where I left my flash.

Anyways, this is the girls, again, at the park for play.  We stayed for a few hours.

For dinner, Robert polished off about 8 slices of watermelon.  Totally would have been an adorable shot to show you all the rinds.

But, my favorite part of the day was spending five hours in the hot tub with Laura.  Will got home just in time to take the kids out and put them to bed, then it was mommy chat time.  I can't believe how long we stayed or how fast it went.  He even brought us water, with a hand towel over his shoulder to wipe our hands, and some cupcakes I had made earlier that evening.

This little Princess went above and beyond for me all day.  She truly made my warm and fuzzy.  I couldn't have asked for or prepared myself for the joy she made me feel.

I tried to get some shots of all three of my kiddos, but of course, Robert was pretty busy resisting to get the three of them at the same time.  The other two are great, until he starts, then it has a domino effect of attention spans.

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

My husband meal planned this week (all on his own) and chose my Gramma's enchiladas for dinner.  We didn't even realize it til we were eating that it was fitting for the day.  In all honesty, my friend pointed it out.

They joined us for dinner this evening and brought the yummy sides and ice cream.  Then, we headed to the hot tub for some play, and later mommy relaxing.  It was just what I needed!

Rawni too.  She had been missing her buddy sooo much!

We met our friends at the park today for a picnic and then they all came back and stayed the night.  It was very busy around here, but very enjoyable.  Unfortunately, I think staying up til 2am with seven kids bright eyed and ready to rise at 7am was not my brightest idea.  But, it was fun while it lasted.  : )

Today they were in their auntie's wedding as flower girl and ring bearer. They were on their best behavior through getting ready, the wedding ceremony, all of the photos, and everything that followed.   I was a very proud mama.

I don't think we could have crammed any more into this day (or week, maybe even month at the rate it's going...).

Today we had two spring parties. William's was all day, but we went to it first thing in the morning, so as to hit Rawni's in the afternoon, allow Robert a short nap and head out of town for a wedding rehearsal.

Rawni and I went to lunch today at "Daddy's work". She was so cute. When she saw his sign holder on the corner she said

Rawni: Who's that? I 'sink' he says we're close to the pizza place.
M: He's telling us the pizza is five dollars.
R: Do we have any dollars?
M: Nope.
R: Then, why does daddy give us pizza?
M: Because it's his store.
R: And he loves him's family?

While we were there I messed around and took some photos of different things. I think this is my favorite. I took in a pitch black walk in freezer, so I had to mess with flash settings, but I think it turned out fun and well.

I used to love to watch Will make dough (literally and metaphorically, ha!) but he doesn't make as much anymore (literally and metaphorically, ha!). It's fun to see though. They have a dough machine that mixes it and then they have to roll it into balls themselves before they place it in the walk in for 24 hours. No more. No less. He always gets an A grade on his pizza's when they health department and corporate come to visit. He takes big pride in that.

Today was my son's first school play. It was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. A grandmother of a student a few years prior put this on with the class and has come back since to work in the classroom free of pay to do this. It was fantastic. Have I mentioned how much I adore my son's school, teacher and classroom? I couldn't be more pleased.

Anyways, he was a horse, and he learned his lines quickest they said! I'd love to take credit, but all of his practice was done on his own free will. He's pretty awesome.
