This was one of my favorite books as a child. In fact, my copy of it is somewhere around here. Probably laying random in one of the cubicles in the kids room. It was a "Golden Books" copy.
So, when William was an infant and I saw this cardboard (is that the right term?) version, I had to have it.
We read it to him all of the time and it was one of his favorite's at a very early age.
Tonight he read it to me. I'm not really surprised at his reading anymore. If he sets his mind to it, he can read practically anything.
As a matter of a fact, he can write practically anything. His spelling is that of a five year old, but he's doing exceptional.
Today we got home rather late from school because we hit the dollar store to get their reward from their Reward Chart (that they kicked butt on this past week!). When we finally got home I had to change Robert's diaper and make him a bottle and do a couple of other things, so he got up the table and did his homework, and boy did he! He brought it to me before I even got to the table (I usually sit with him to work on it) and showed me that he completed the entire page.
They are working on J this week, so he wrote (and I can't remember his improper spelling and I am not going to run to get it):
I like "Josph".
I see Jada.
I like Jacob.
I like Jo.
My birthday is in June.
