This was one of my favorite books as a child. In fact, my copy of it is somewhere around here. Probably laying random in one of the cubicles in the kids room. It was a "Golden Books" copy.
IMG_0043

So, when William was an infant and I saw this cardboard (is that the right term?) version, I had to have it.

We read it to him all of the time and it was one of his favorite's at a very early age.

Tonight he read it to me. I'm not really surprised at his reading anymore. If he sets his mind to it, he can read practically anything.

As a matter of a fact, he can write practically anything.  His spelling is that of a five year old, but he's doing exceptional.

Today we got home rather late from school because we hit the dollar store to get their reward from their Reward Chart (that they kicked butt on this past week!).  When we finally got home I had to change Robert's diaper and make him a bottle and do a couple of other things, so he got up the table and did his homework, and boy did he!  He brought it to me before I even got to the table (I usually sit with him to work on it) and showed me that he completed the entire page.

They are working on J this week, so he wrote (and I can't remember his improper spelling and I am not going to run to get it):

I like "Josph".
I see Jada.
I like Jacob.
I like Jo.
My birthday is in June.

Down by the Water

IMG_0012

There is something so relaxing and calming about hanging out in or by the water, to me.
IMG_0014
I took these photos when it was just a tad windy (see the trees?)
IMG_0004
and I was a tad underdressed, in flip flops. Eek! It was cold.

By the way, I completely stole this idea for a photo from a friend and inspiration to this project. She will know that quickly, and I hope she's not offended and rather, flattered.

I have never been a big fan of geese, but there weren't many mallard's around to capture a photo of.
IMG_0028

This was my favorite shot I took this trip, and I almost made it my photo of the day, but it got trumped.

These photos were taken at the Martinez, CA Marina.

This is my sister in law and myself. She is Will's older sister and the firstborn of four.

Today was her bridal shower, so it only seemed appropriate to use our self portrait for the day in my project 365. If you want to read about how awesome she is, click here.  If you don't, well, just know, she means a lot to me.

I can't wait to see her live her "happily ever after".  She deserves it.

This was the only photo I took today. I had a friend over all day and we were laaaazy together. It was awesome.

It's hard to tell, but I took this photo at 10:30, when I was heading to bed. It was the only photo that I took today.

This is our iPad. It has several screens of app's, but this is the main (aka my screen).

I've got my main app's right there easy to access. In order of the screen: Apple's App Store, Calendar, Notes, Maps, YouTube, SwagBucks, Yahoo! Messenger, Facebook (though I never use this one, I just like the alerts it has set up), Apple's One to One Appointment's, Google, SwagBucks Thread, Quote Garden, Words with Friends, Tiny Chef (my current favorite reality app), ABC player (to watch Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy), Facebook (a direct link to the site), Twitter (since updated to TweetDeck - LOVE), Daily Horoscope by Comitic, Formspring, "Marni's Reader" (my Google Reader).

Then in the main dock, I have Safari (internet), Mail (surprisingly only 24 unread messages, I woke up with 159 messages on Saturday morning!!! Of course, that was on my phone.), Photos, Contacts and Settings.

I thought this photo deserved a vintage feel.
IMG_9896

Why, you ask? Oh just because I want to put it behind me already.  If you follow my blog you know that Robert gives me a run for my money.  He's. into. everything.

This doesn't exclude anything.

Today he pulled a cord hanging barely off my kitchen counter which pulled down, yes, you'll never guess, my 50mm lens.

It wasn't enough my strobe bounced out of my minivan this week.  Nope, I needed a broken lens too.

Damn it.

Does anyone know if this is fixable?!?!

Vanilla ice cream is probably my first/second favorite ice cream. That and Mint Chocolate Chip from Baskin Robbins.

What's yours?

I have three giveaway's going on and closing this week, have you checked them out yet? The links are above!

Meet Lester.
IMG_9874

Lester, my bloggy friends.  Bloggy friends, this is Lester.  He's my stair body guard and sanity keeper.  Well, er, he doesn't do a great job on the latter, but he contributes.

Robert decided this morning that he was ready to climb the stairs, and boy did he ever!  He bolted up both flights (we have a landing) first thing this morning.  I couldn't believe it.  I mean, I can, but it happened so quick and while he had shown interest in the first stair or two, he was quick!

Anyways, after his first nap and several attempts at him doing it while I was busy, I realized I couldn't go without a gate.

I never used one with Rawni and it was never a problem.  I had hoped to do the same with Robert and just help him up and down and make sure he's got it under control before I can leave him.  I just can't risk it though.  He's too quick and I couldn't even get a glass of water before he bolted from one room and was trying to climb up them again!

Alas, I went digging through the garage and closets and found all of the pieces to an old gate we had. Sweating to install the danged thing against the stupid bars on our stairs while a one year old stood next to me shaking the gate and two other kids stood there asking how they would get in and out and if it was done yet "hired" Lester.

Dear Lester, Thank You.  You made the rest of the day more relaxing.

***

On a completely side note, my camera was giving me a bit of trouble yesterday and more today.  I don't know why it does this but all of a sudden my shutter speed will change to extremely slow and I can't seem to find anything to do to fix it.  Please tell me someone has the answer?

The kids asked for pizza for dinner yesterday, so Will brought some spinach to work this morning and brought us home veggie for the adults and cheese pizza for the kiddos. (If you aren't familiar, my husband owns his own pizza franchise.)
IMG_9870

The kids used to eat veggie pizza with us, but it was short lasted.

This photo was taken in a hurry because I hadn't eaten lunch and was hungry, and had guests over, so I didn't feel like spending time focusing on how to take a nice picture of my pizza, or anything else.

I won't tell you all of the things I wanted to use as a photo today but got busy and didn't get to capture the shots. Nope, I won't. Just know, my photos didn't go my way.

Here is my favorite shot. It's simply, but vibrant. I am very into brightly colored photos right now.

Can you guess what it is? It's rather simple.

We won't get into what a pain Robert is and how he prefers store bought baby food, but I will show you this. He will at least 2, likely closer to 4 jars of a baby food in a sitting.

We went out to eat tonight (with a coupon, of course) and this little man was protesting something silly (I already forgot) while eating his dinner.

Man, he's cute, isn't he?

If you are reading this blog in a reader, please click over and check out the giveaway's I have up right now.  I have three great giveaways for you to enjoy!  If you're already reading in a reader, you've already earned an entry!  Check them out!

The kids and I made Rice Krispie Treats together today, with sprinkles.
IMG_9814
They were heavenly.

For fun, I let them hold the "big piece" and pretend it was their's for a photo. They had fun with that. : )
IMG_9809
Biggest Rice Krispie Treat EVER! (Totally a joke. They didn't actually get to eat this. They just held it.)

Keys & Keychains

IMG_9807

These are my keys. I used to always have a ton of keychains, but over time it dwindled down. I have other keychains and keys elsewhere, but this is basically all that I keep on me daily.

I have the key to what was my 2004 Ford Escape that we bought directly after our honeymoon, because my car the day before our wedding. My husband now drives that.

Then, I have the keys to my "new" Honda Odyssey, as the kids call it. Technically we've had it almost a year and a half though.

Lastly, I have my house key and maybe my mom's house key? I am not sure what the other one goes to now that I think about it...

The only keychains I have are

-The flip flop that says I (heart) William. I bought it for both of my boys, as they both share the name. I'd love a Rawni one, but of course, I don't think I will ever find it. Robert would be nice too.

-The other keychain in the back is "Shoshone Falls" and I bought that in Idaho (at Shoshone Falls) right after my grandma passed. This is where a portion of her lays.

Can you guess what my mind was thinking of? It only took William a few minutes.

After he quizzed me on which one had the fewest and such.
